Graduation Evening 2017!
Our warmest congratulations go to all of our 2016/17 Graduates, some of whom are pictured above with their qualifications - we are so proud of our achievers; it was our great pleasure to celebrate their success, many of whom received their qualifications on-stage; we wish them all every success in their future careers within our exciting industry.
There were 14 nominees for the Recognition Trophy Awards this year: Charlotte Hawkins, Victoria Thomas, Amelia Hyde, Chelsea Shorter, Harry Oldfield, Jo Say, Enis Pajaziti, Sabina-Adela Neacsu, Lorrianne Ward-Lane, Cydney Brunyee-Besta, Chloe Newton, Paige Clitheroe, Sarah-Louise Conway & Jack Croft.
Recognition Awards were announced as follows:
- L3: Charlotte Hawkins, The Lounge Hair & Beauty
- L2: Sabina Adela Neacsu, Chandler Wright & Joy Joanna Say, Self-Employed candidate
- Functional Skills: Victoria Thomas, Village Way

2016 Red Carpet Event!
The 10th Shears Academy Graduation event 2016 was definitely one to remember – and possibly one of the best presentations ever!
There was so much amazing creative planning and attention to detail put in by every single presenter, pictured left – wonderful work everyone, thank you for making the evening such a fabulous event!

The evening was compared by Shears Apprentices Eloise and Harry, and hosted by Emma, Lead Assessor at Shears Academy. After introducing the Shears Team to the audience of employers, family, friends, we were treated to a fast paced catwalk show where 18 Apprentices showcased their salon's creative skills by presenting 19 models - yes, you read that right, Amy George of Claus & Co presented not one but two models on the Red Carpet at The Warren, in Hayes!

Voting was completely open to all this year, everyone was invited to vote for their favourite look after the event until midnight, Easter Monday on Shears Academy's Facebook and Website – and the results are as follows:
Winning presenters with the most votes:
- Level 2 Winner: Harry Oldfield/Elliot Gerred No.2
- Runner up: Pria Hassan/Diamante No.18
- Level 3 Winner: Sabi Ali/Village Way No.10
- Runner Up: Amy McCormack/Gossip Sisters No.6
